Scarecrows

We made scarecrows in Jr. Church. As the children drew faces on their scarecrows, we talked about what God wants us to see, hear, say and do. We talked about where God wants us to go.

O Be Careful Little Eyes
  • O be careful little eyes what you see
  • O be careful little eyes what you see
  • For the Father up above
  • Is looking down in love
  • So, be careful little eyes what you see
  • O be careful little ears what you hear
  • O be careful little ears what you hear
  • For the Father up above
  • Is looking down in love
  • So, be careful little ears what you hear
  • O be careful little tongue what you say
  • O be careful little tongue what you say
  • For the Father up above
  • Is looking down in love
  • So, be careful little tongue what you say
  • O be careful little hands what you do
  • O be careful little hands what you do
  • For the Father up above
  • Is looking down in love
  • So, be careful little hands what you do
  • O be careful little feet where you go
  • O be careful little feet where you go
  • For the Father up above
  • Is looking down in love
  • So, be careful little feet where you go
  • O be careful little heart whom you trust
  • O be careful little heart whom you trust
  • For the Father up above
  • Is looking down in love
  • So, be careful little heart whom you trust
The children chose clothing for their scarecrows from items we gathered which were left over from the Rummage Sale. The following Sunday we talked with the children during Jr. Church about whom God wants us to trust. We talked about the purpose of scarecrows and about what scares us and why God says, "Do not fear," all throughout His Word.

We talked about how you do not need to be afraid when you have Jesus as your Savior and Forever Friend! God promises to be with us, to protect us, and to never leave us. "The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid." (Psalm 118:6)

We discussed God never sleeps and is always watching over us, not so He catches us making every mistake and every sin, but how God is "looking down in Love." The children quickly understood how God is sad when we see, hear, say and do things that are not good for us, when we do things we shouldn't -- because He loves us and wants good things on our minds and in our hearts.

What a privilege it is to share Jesus with these children!
